PUBLIC NOTICE: Fair Housing Workshop and CDBG Second Public Hearing
Small Cities Community Development Block Grant Funding
The City of Bristol plans to apply to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) for a FFY 2021-2022 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the Neighborhood Revitalization category for grant funding in the amount of $650,000 The activities, dollar amounts and estimated percentage benefit to low- and moderate-income persons are as follows:
The City of Bristol’s proposed CDBG project will replace aging waterlines and the installation of new water meters in the Neal Subdivision which includes 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Streets, as well as First Avenue and 2nd Avenue. The project also includes installation of fire hydrants along these streets and replacement of an aging water tank that supports water supply to Neal Subdivision residents. The proposed project also includes an unaddressed need of waterline replacements and hydrant installations along Clay Street. Unaddressed need means that there is not currently funding to support the project and while it is not budgeted as part of the grant request, should the CDBG program have additional funding to support the project then it has been identified as an unaddressed need and provides demonstrated LMI benefit to residents in this area.
The City of Bristol does not expect that anyone will be displaced because of CDBG-funded activities. If any persons are displaced because of the planned activities, the City will assist them as described in the City’s anti-displacement and relocation policy, which is available for review at 12444 NW Virginia G. Weaver Street, Bristol, FL 32321.
