Hurricane Michael General Infrastructure Program
The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) is making available $42,233,440 in CDBG-MIT funding to local governments impacted by Hurricane Michael through the Rebuild Florida General Infrastructure Repair Program. This public notice is to solicit citizen comments on the proposed application for the City of Bristol. The public comment period begins on May 20 and ends on June 3, 2022 at 5 p.m. CST. For information on this public notice or projects, to provide comments on proposed projects listed below, or to receive a copy of the draft CDBGMIT applications, contact Robin Hatcher, City Clerk at 850-643-2261 or rmh.cityofbristol@fairpoint.net. The application will also be available for review at City of Bristol City Hall located at: 12444 NW Virginia G. Weaver Street, Bristol, FL 32321.
The City of Bristol will submit one project for consideration under this round of funding which is detailed below:
PROJECT: Municipal Water Infrastructure Project (Estimated Grant Request: $693,000)
The City of Bristol is seeking funding to make necessary upgrades to its municipal water infrastructure, including the addition of a new production well at the HUD water booster plant site, a new chlorination system, and an upgrade to the City’s SCADA system. Additionally, the city is planning to replace a 2” water main, water lines and fire hydrants along Clay Street which were damaged in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael.
The City of Bristol does not anticipate that anyone will be displaced because of the CDBG-MIT funded activities proposed above. If persons are displaced because of the planned activities, the City of Bristol will assist them as described in the City’s anti-displacement and relocation policy, which is available for review at Bristol City Hall located at: 12444 NW Virginia G. Weaver Street, Bristol, FL 32321.
